UAP CE Dept. Welcomes Fulbright Scholar Dr. Kauser Jahan

 

Dr. Kauser Jahan, a recipient of the Fulbright Scholar Award is currently teaching and conducting research in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP). She is involved in teaching environmental courses and conducting research on algae derived biofuels and lake water quality monitoring studies. Dr. Jahan is also engaged in offering workshops for educators on effective teaching and course assessment.

Dr. Jahan is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rowan University, New Jersey, USA. Dr. Jahan has been one of the cornerstones of the College of Engineering at Rowan University. She is a leader and innovator in the area of curriculum development andis a nationally and internationally known expert in teaching and research. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the ASCE Educator of the Year and the ASEE Sharon Keillor Award for Women in Engineering Education. She has served the Civil Engineering Department as Chair and directs critical programs to advance engineering especially the representation of women and minorities.

Dr. Jahan received her B.S.C.E. from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, an MSCE from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada. Dr. Jahan is actively involved with the Bangladeshi Community in New Jersey and has served as the Vice President of the Bangladesh Association of Delaware Valley.
